The research phase for solar was much different than the inverter and battery set up. First we found a website, Northern Arizona Wind & Sun, and poured through all of their offerings for 12V solar panels looking for a panel that was cheap. Then we looked at quality and warranty information. Eventually we settled on a panel. While Dad and I discussed how many panels to buy the system gradually grew from 2 panels to 3, then finally 4 panels. I made an argument for more and more panels and received the following e-mail:

Mom and I went looking for furniture and it looks like she got what she wants, will be here in 6 to 8 weeks. That leaves 3250 from camper for solar. We are going FOUR PANELS. Get a price when you have time and we will order things when your home over vacation.
We ended up going with six panels. By the time we settled on a number and an order date the price had dropped from 420 dollars per panel down to 360 dollars. We ordered everything on March 27, 2010.
