early days :: about the inverter

When choosing the inverter there were several criteria that needed to be met:

  • true sine wave AC output for electronic devices
  • remote display panel for the cabin (inverter mounted in garage)
  • temperature compensated charging (the garage varies from 30-80°F throughout the year)
  • low energy use when idle
  • at least 2000 watt peak output to run the well pump and microwave

In the end we chose the Xantrex MS3000. Here is the data sheet detailing the specifications of the inverter:
